Alexandra Columban is a human rights practitioner, with over 4 years experience in advocacy, project management and public policy, in particular in the fields of non-discrimination, gender equality and LGBT+ rights. She is currently the association’s legal represenative and she is also responsible for communications of The Pro Bono Network for Human Rights. In 2015-2016, Alexandra was the coordinator of the national nongovernmental network Breaking the Silence on Sexual Violence, implementing a comprehensive advocacy campaign for the ratification by Romania of the Istanbul Convention and the development of specialized services for survivors of sexual violence. Alexandra has two BAs, in International Relations and European Studies, and in Norwegian and English Language and Literature, respectively, as well as an MA in History of Ideas from Babeş-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca. Alexandra is currently doing a PhD in gender and public policies at the Faculty for Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences at Babeş-Bolyai University. Alexandra loves travelling, reading, learning new languages, and has a keen interest in evolutionary biology and psychology.
