Dear friends, supporters, lawyers & change-makers,
After 11 years full of achievements and challenges, the path of the Equality and Human Rights Action Centre (ACTEDO) stops here. It was not an easy decision, but we are at peace knowing that we have contributed to a fairer Romania: we have provided effective access to justice for over 250 people in vulnerable situations, trained hundreds of practitioners (lawyers, social workers, teachers, police officers, etc.) in the field of anti-discrimination, submitted petitions and complaints in cases of human rights violations, constantly communicated about the importance of social justice, and gave voice to marginalized and discriminated groups.
We cherish the memories we made in our work and thank all those who believed in ACTEDO's mission: the pro bono lawyers, our national and European partners, as well as our colleagues in civil society throughout the country, who greatly need your support in a difficult period for NGOs in Romania.
Now, our legacy continues through all the people who have been part of ACTEDO's mission: association members, volunteers, collaborators, and our beneficiaries. We look to the future with confidence and serenity: we see this ending as a new beginning, an opportunity to make the world a more just place through our individual journeys.
