Vulnerable group: women, children
Human rights area: domestic violence, psychological violence
This case is about a woman from Cluj county who retired due to health reasons and wants to get a divorce. Her husband is abusive towards her, provoking quarrels, refusing to cover the necessary expenses, and constantly complaining that the woman doesn't bring enough income, even though she has retired. Moreover, the man also drinks alcohol very often, and the actions and pressures he exerts when he is in a drunken state psychologically affect his wife and their minor son. For this reason, the 10-year-old child had to undergo psychological counseling sessions at school. Therefore, the lady wants to divorce, because she and her child should no longer be exposed to this kind of psychological violence.
Att. Adelina Corina Dumitru from Cluj Bar is currently helping the lady file for divorce.
