Vulnerable group: women, LGBT people
Human rights area: physical violence, psychological violence, domestic violence
A new case was taken up through The Pro Bono Network for Human Rights. The request came from an LGBTI woman from Bucharest who left a relationship which had been abusive both psychologically and physically. Although the relationship ended, the abuse continued and the applicant called the police several times when her former partner had been violent. The most recent violent episode took place in public, where her friends were also assaulted. The woman has applied for legal aid to file a protection order against her ex-partner.
The case was taken over by lawyer Aura Iovan (Bucuresti Bar) whom we thank and wish a lot of success in solving the case!
