Vulnerable group: victims of violence
Human rights area: the right to have criminal proceedings disposed of within a reasonable time
A new case was taken over through The Pro Bono Network for Human Rights. It concerns a man who, several years ago, was walking his flock of sheep near some houses when his dogs killed a puppy belonging to a family in the village without him being able to intervene. A few hours later, two men, father and son, came charging at him, armed - one with a club and the other with a gun. The men knocked him down in one blow, after which the father continued to beat him, mostly on the head, while the son held the gun to his temple. After beating him, they left him there, slumped in the mud, covered in blood. He filed a criminal complaint, but has not received any information from the police for almost three years. He sought pro bono legal assistance through the Pro Bono Human Rights Network.
The case was taken over by lawyer Amalia Bondrea (Cluj-Napoca) towhom we thank and wish a lot of success in solving the case!
