The Pro Bono Network against Discrimination has been funded!
The Pro Bono Network against Discrimination is designed to facilitate access to justice of vulnerable groups in order to meet their needs of a free and adequate legal representation and assistance. The main objective of the project is to create a pro bono network of lawyers to provide legal representation and assistance in the counties of Cluj, Mureş and Bistriţa-Năsăud. The project will also build capacity for 30 lawyers to work on discrimination cases and use international human rights conventions in court. The project is aimed at persons suffering from discrimination, including Roma and women victims of sexual harassment and gender violence.
This project is funded by the EEA grants 2009-2014 (www.eeagrants.org) through the NGO Fund in Romania (www.fondong.fdsc.ro), within Component 1 Engage (http://fondong.fdsc.ro/engage).
Our Study Trip to Iceland
In June 2014, three lucky members of the Equality and Human Rights Action Center organised a study visit to meet with Women’s Counseling organisation, based in Reykjavik, Iceland, with the aim to exchange experience, ideas and best practices with a more accomplished organization in the area of women’s justice, and thus develop a sustainable partnership between our two organizations. Knowing that Iceland was the first country to democratically elect a woman as head of state, we expected to learn much from this country’s experience in the women’s rights area.
Our mobility project, entitled “Justice for Women”, was funded by the EEA grants 2009-2014, (www.eeagrants.org), through the NGO Fund in Romania (www.fondong.fdsc.ro), within the Billateral Relations programme (http://fondong.fdsc.ro/relatii-bilaterale). Continue here!
